This week I based all my work on different aspects for the UAB project.
I started negotiations with the teachers who asked for the project in order to get some money to pay the clothes, transport, some atrezzo we had to buy, etc. I also started to think how to do a model of a solar machine for the project.
Apart on working for the UAB project I have worked on the programming of the Pirates game where I could do what the people of the City hall asked on the last meeting and now I’m working on more things because the next meeting will be on the next week so I’m thinking in new things to show them.
I also worked on the diagram of the game to know where will be a movie scene and where a stage. By now this diagram is simple because we want to have the bases very clear. For the next meeting we are thinking what will happen in every movie scene.
As I told on my latest post I’m working on my Creatives Futures projects (PRIMAROCA, Flash Game and UAB Project) for 2 reasons.
The first reason why now I’m working on this projects more than on my other project SUM, Shape Ur Mind is because by the moment the other projects have priority. This priority it’s because are projects from companies and they need this projects finished earlier than my personal project (SUM).
The second reason why I have SUM, Shape Ur Mind stopped is because I had some problems with the main actor so I can’t finish the recordings. I worked on the material I already have but I only can make tests until I have the editing done. This is really a setback but I don’t care about it so much because I have planned my time to work now on Creative Futures before I have this setback. So with or without this setback I plan to work on Creative Futures.

– UAB PROJECT

We have done the pre-filming last week, and now we have to work with this material in order to see the timings and create a definitive and more detailed shooting script based on the results of the old shooting script. We have also to plan in detail the camera shots where post production is needed (3D integration, mate-painting, etc).
While my mates (Raul and Aleix) are working on thinking the best way to do the post production I’m working hard to make the best pre production in order to know when, what and where we have to record. Apart from that I’m writing the plot of the project and thinking the storyboard. Until now I only could think about how the shots could be because we didn’t make the camera tests to know what we can do or not.
My work inside the team is from one hand be the director, who coordinates all the activities we have to do, and by the other hand I’m doing tasks of pre production team. As I said before I’m doing the plot and the sotryboard but also I think about the clothing, atrezzo, actors, etc.
– PRIMAROCA
Last week I have to go for a meeting but they ask me if we can meet during this current week. From now I know the same as the last post.
I expect knowing more things this week because I think I will have to do some work in a short period of time.
– PIRATES VIDEOGAME
Last Thursday, we have met (Raul Reyes and I) with Premia de Mar city hall to talk more about the project. For this meeting, I’ve worked on the basics of the programming to show them how the main character and the pirates will move and one way to kill them.
I based my work on the platform games where the camera is static and the difficulty of the game is on the ability of the gamer to move around the stage. Despite this I actually working on another type of platform games where the camera is always focused on the main character so there are some parts of the stage that are hidden at the beginning of the game.
I also tried to put some shots to kill the pirates. I show this way to kill and they ask me if he can run out of water on his gun because they told us that the water guns are used on the city festival and obviously kids have to fill their guns.
We explain them that the main character will win the gun when he beat one of the pirates because we think that if he has been kidnapped he can’t have a gun to fight against the pirates. They told us that they are really satisfied with what they had seen and test and they think the game could be very interesting and funny.
Raul had worked on the character design and they enjoy Raul’s drawings more than we expected. They choose one design for the main character and ask if the pirates can be more than one because they think that it is better to have more than one type of animal to represent the pirates.
GAME STORY:
You, the Main character, are a friend of “Giant Marti” and a villager of “Premia de Mar”.
The Game Story starts with the beginning of the legend, “Giant Marti” is going to get married with “Esther” but when they are in the middle of the ceremony, the Pirates appear taking over the city. Pirate Omar appears knocking out Giant Martí and kidnap Esther with you and some villagers. They take you and the other prisoners to ship’s hold. Now you have to scape through all the pirate ship to escape from the pirates. Meanwhile the pirates have taken the city, and burn the City Hall. Villagers are resisting grouped into one singled street called “Sant Antoni”. You manage to scape beating all the pirates of the ship, and then you and the other prisoners (including Esther) arrive to the city. Then you see a lot of pirates going down the city, they are being kicked out of the city by the resistance of villagers. Then, you face Pirate Omar, he says to you that maybe they have recovered the city, but he is going to kidnap Esther and scape. Then you have to beat Pirate Omar, when you are nearly defeated, Giant Marti appears and finish Pirate Omar, saving Esther and kicking of the pirates from the city definitely.
With all in peace, they celebrate the weeding between Giant marti and Esther, and then the game ends.
END OF STORY
We have proposed that the final battle of the game can be a “fake battle” where you always lose and Giant Marti appears to save the situation.
For next meeting we have to:
work on the definitive design of the main character.
do more pirate designs including more animals.
work on the programming changes and proposals.
make a diagram integrating the game story into the level design and gameplay.
After a long and busy week I come back to my blog to tell to all of you what’s new on my different projects.
These days I’m more concentrate on my creative futures projects than my own project because I think SUM it’s going so well and the dead line is not as so close as the other projects.
On my last post I said that I have different projects to complete my creative futures project.
First of all I want to tell that last Wednesday Raul and I had a meeting with Premia de Mar city hall to know about the project they wanted to do. They told us that they want to do a Flash game that tells the story of the village to the children. This Flash game is thought to use on the school but by the moment they only want the game.
We proposed that the game was a platform game where the main character was a citizen of the village. The story of the village is about pirates so we think in a few words a simple script where the pirates kidnap some citizens (one is the main character) and they have to run out of the ships to be free another time.
This week we have to meet again because they want that we develop more the script and think more things for the project.
Secondly I want to talk about the project that I talk on the last post, the UAB Project. Last week we meet with the production team 3 days to think about the storyboard of the first video, to look for clothes for the characters and to think about the whole story. All work we have done last week was because this week we want to start the camera tests to know what we can record.
And the other project I will do for my creative futures is the PRIMAROCA’s project, but by the time I’m waiting for the information of what I have to do and when because I have to wait until they can do a montage where I can record. Not everybody wants a recording of his garden.
In conclusion now my everyday work is based on creative futures because I have to do it for the project and for the people who ask it.
