These last two weeks my job has been to try to finish the two projects for the Creative Futures.
PRIMAROCA
By one side I managed to stop almost completed the assembly Alella Time Lapse for PRIMAROCA company. Currently I only have to receive a response from the company and end the video with the inclusion of PRIMAROCA logo.
PIRATE GAME
By the other side I am still working on the flash game for the Premia City Hall. These two weeks have been used to leave the stages of each level finished, adjust the times for the hard version of the game and get started on the screens of the two bosses that must be overcome at the end of the game.
Raul meanwhile has been testing the gameplay while I’ve been checking that everything worked properly and have incorporated new moves to the hero in order to increase his playability. These new movements are essentially jumping down and jumping animation, that has not worked properly.
What is taking me longer to get is that the main character responds correctly to interaction with the mobile platform because, as you can see in the video below, when I can jump the character is constantly flickering and when I correct the flicker the platform does not allow the character jump correctly. I hope next week to correct this minor setback.
This is not a post where I describe my work on one or some of my projects for the University. This post is dedicated to everyone who are following my blog and who give me one like.
I’m from Mataró, a city near Barcelona, and I’m studing GMA (Audiovisuals Media Graduate). For my final project my teachers made me write a blog and I never would have thought my blog would have this level of reading. Obviously there are many blogs on the net but have about 10 people around the world who are following this blog for me is an accomplishment that I had not in mind.
Yesterday April 11 Raul and I had a further meeting with the people of Premia City Hall.
At that meeting we show them a beta version of the game to show them how the game will be so they can get an idea of how will be the game levels and how they interact with the different elements of it.
The truth is that the reaction showed what we presented was the best we could expect as they liked almost everything they saw. We were told that all the animation regarding the main cat, the protagonist, they seemed fine but perhaps preferred not jump so high, because right now the cat moves many pixels in the vertical direction and that did not seem good.
They were surprised to see the lever must be activated in order to move to a new level but were a little unhappy about the platforms because they are capped to ensure that enemies only move across the surface of these platforms. We asked if it was possible to make the movement of these enemies out there without having to use these stops or if there is a way to hide this stops to the user.
Another aspect that they proposed to us is to make the game a little shorter to prevent it from getting heavy play. In the same meeting with them we decided that instead of having three stages each level would have only 2 stages and in the game’s total would have two bosses with different physical. The first we propose that just throw cannonballs while the second, and more important, would fight on melee mode.
This first test level only have enemies to beat but we are working on new challenges for the user as standing water, showers, water jets, etc. To increase the playability of the game.
Because we are quite busy with other projects we do not specify a meeting on a fixed day but we agreed that once we get the levels both graphically and in terms of programming done we would had the meeting.
Here are some of the new bugs that apear when I tried to modify some aspects of the main character:
Finally we decide with Raul and later with Premia City Hall that this changes were not necessary so now the BETA version is this:
PRIMAROCA
This week I have been almost solving some of the problems of the game of pirates. This caused that I colud not be able to work on TimeLapse. I have scheduled for early next week this finished and ready for use by the company. Currently this is a small sample of the photos taken. I spoke with the company and they told me, as I thought, to make the pictures move faster so the movement is more fluid and not make so long. I will finish it next week and possibly adjust the times put some titles at times.
Taking advantage of the Easter holidays I have been finished the recording of SUM, Shape Ur Mind. Now only one stage to finish this project, now what I have to do is to do all the post production. This stage involves the montage, end of the video, making the modeling of all 3D elements that have to appear in some of the scenes in form of holograms and give a color correction to the entire video to enhance the integration of the different effects.
On the other side I have to look for a different music and sound effects to give more credibility to the entire production.
It seems a small thing that is left but this is the stage that perhaps requires more work, luckily in this stage I do not depend on anyone to do it so that I can be developing in my schedule.
This project has been somewhat delayed due to the Easter holiday and because of I’ve had to work for PRIMAROCA project. These two facts have led the game project has been affected because we could not have a meeting with people of Premia.
Raul on the other hand has been working on more character designs for put them in the game. Besides working on these designs, he has managed to schedule a meeting with people of Premia for Wednesday or Thursday of next week.
PRIMAROCA
Finally I could not take pictures better than they sent me so that my work has been to make an outline of how the deck looks like in different colours in a specific location.
On the other hand last week and this week I went to take pictures of a work that have made PRIMAROCA workers in Alella. In this work they had to put 20m2 of a deck around a pool.
At first my intention was to make a video of how to perform the installation but when I realized that despite being only 20m2 would take several days to do so, I decided to make a time lapse of the process by taking a photograph every 10 minutes. During my time in the installation process I made pictures with a still camera on a tripod and one that has helped me to have some detailing photos of the steps to take in an assembly. Unfortunately the weather has accompanied every day. This and the fact of being in a private home have made the camera position that realized photographs for time lapse had a little variation from one day to the other.
Yesterday work finished and today I started to work on the time lapse video combining photos taken with the camera from the tripod and overlapping in some cases some of the detailing photos.
I think PRIMAROCA think I’m doing a good job for him as I have commissioned this two projects along with another project, that I talk earlier on this blog, that model some installation steps of the deck. Project for which I received last week longer because they saw it would take me longer than they had planned to do the time lapse and they also ordered to me a small modification to one of their logos for a new product line.
